The RR478M will work right out of the package for compatible Onkyo AV receiver models listed (but not limited to) without any programming. The RR478M is pre-programmed to work with Onkyo receivers. The remote includes popular features like the selection of the inputs, full menu controls, and, of course, all other buttons for normal operations. We purchased this same remote before...2 yrs ago i think. One button, the volume down button, stopped working and we had to replace. Seems it should last longer. No other options, so we had to buy it again.

This controller is AWESOME. I have a had an Onkyo TX-SR700 for 18 years and the stock controller hasn't worked very well for a very long time, Well that changed last week when I received my RR478M from Dans Electronics. I'm way up north in Alberta and shipping was pretty quick as well. Dans Electronics you kick ASS, Thank you Team.
