The RMC12249 will work right out of the package for compatible SONY DVD/VCR Combo Player models listed (but not limited to) without any programming. The RMC12249 is a pre-programmed SONY DVD/VCR Combo Player remote and cannot be programmed to other devices. Is this remote not working?
If DVD1 or DVD2 is flashing on the LCD screen of your unit when you press a button on this remote, then you need to follow the instructions on page 27 in your operating manual. The unit's code set needs to be put back into the default code set of "DVD3" for the Anderic remote to work. The Anderic RMC12249 only sends the codes of the DVD3 code set and cannot be changed. The only way to change between DVD modes (DVD1, DVD2, DVD3) is by following the instructions in the manual using the OEM Sony RMTD240A remote. ONLY THE RMTD240A remote can adjust this setting.
