Tip: Be sure to check what type of remote your existing fan has, to ensure it's the same type as this one (4-buttons); if it's not, you can buy 2 of these Anderic remotes and code them both the same way (and then retire your original remote since it will no longer be coded to the fan).

This was so misleading. All I needed was a replacement for my remote control. Instead I got a whole new mechanism that I would have to pay someone to install in my ceiling fan/light even though my appliance worked fine - all it needed was a new remote to control it. I spent the money and it ended up in the trash!!!!
