This Hampton Bay kit adds a thermostatic remote and canopy receiver to a downrod-style AC ceiling fan.

Good to Know
- Not for DC motor fans or fans without a manual reverse switch.
- Not recommended for hugger-style fans.
Setup / Pairing
Step 1: Set the codes before installing
- Remove the remote's battery cover by pressing firmly on the arrow and sliding it off.
- Slide the code switches to your choice of up or down (factory setting is up).
- The remote shows °F from the factory; press °C/°F once to change to °C.
- For dimmable bulbs, slide the O/D switch to "D"; otherwise slide it to "O".
- Install 2 AAA batteries (not included) and replace the cover.
- Slide the code switches on the receiver to the SAME positions as the remote, then insert the silicone rubber plug over the receiver switches.
Step 2: Install the receiver
- Turn the electricity off at the main fuse box. Set the fan to HIGH speed and the light kit (if any) to ON with its pull chains.
- Position the house supply wires to one side of the slide-on mounting bracket and the fan wires to the other side.
- Insert the narrow end of the receiver (flat side toward the ceiling) into the bracket until it rests on top of the ball/downrod assembly.
- Connect the green fan wires to the household ground (green or bare) wire, the receiver black (or red) wire to the household black wire, and the receiver white wire to the household white wire.
- Connect the fan motor white, black and blue wires to the receiver white, black and blue wires. Secure every wire nut with electrical tape.
- Push the wiring up into the outlet box, finish the fan canopy, and restore power.
The remote and receiver only work together when their code switches are set to exactly the same pattern. Do not use the receiver with a variable (rheostat) wall control.
