It replaced the original remote

It replaced the original remote. I have had this fan and remote for 10 years. The replacement remote took right over from the old remote. Works great.

Worked right away

We lost our remote and bought this replacement. Had to put in a battery and thankfully we had one. But it worked gotr our ceiling fan right away! Just pointed at it and it worked. However, ours looked different than pictured. It was all grey, no orange. It also came with a holder to screw into the wall!

The only problem that I have with this new

The only problem that I have with this new remote is that it doesn't have a dedicated sleep/timer button like the original version had. And since my old, original Samsung TV remote still works most, but not all, of the time (...go figure...), I would not have bought this one, since that's basically the only reason that I ordered and purchased this one... .
