If your fan has an AMP-type plug instead of the 9-pin square (Molex) plug, an adapter cable is needed.

Setup / Pairing

Turn off power to the fan at the circuit breaker. A qualified electrician is recommended.
Open the fan housing (see your fan's instructions) and unplug the old receiver.
Fit the new receiver; if the old receiver used tabs or clips, they can be broken off so the new one fits.
Plug the fan's square 9-pin plug into the receiver, then connect the blue and white light-kit wires, matching colors.
Note the receiver's 4 dip-switch pattern (or set the pattern you want) and reinstall the housing.
Remove the remote's battery cover and set its 4 dip switches to exactly match the receiver before inserting the battery (factory setting is all up; a different pattern is recommended).
Insert the 9-volt battery (not included), matching the polarity marks, and replace the cover.
Restore power and test the fan speeds, light and Reverse key.
If the fan or light turns on and off by itself, another remote is interfering: set a new matching pattern on both the remote and the receiver.

Safety: turn off power at the circuit breaker before opening the fan canopy or touching the receiver.
